My sister and I are working on our bucket list. We started 6 weeks after my emergency pacemaker was implanted because of Heart Block Stage Two and Syncope.
My husband gave me a gift of a pink ribbon tattoo on my wrist after my 1st year if beating breast cancer. Which is why I went back to school at 64 to get into the nursing field. My tattoo allowed me to tell my story of hope to my patients.
So I was given another gift of a tattoo by "me" 6 weeks after the pacemaker surgery. It's on the outside of my right ankle. Two wings (representing the two leads in my heart) holding up my heart. The left side of the heart has a tiny silver hole representing the pacemaker itself.
Same day, my sister and I found the owner of the human sling shot (350ft in 5 sec) and he opened the park just for us. Wow is all I have to say about that. Just made me seek out another adventure. We went to the mall and got climbed the wall and bungee jumped. Still didn't reach the adrenaline I was after. So to the mountains. Hangliding at 1500 ft. As I looked up I changed my mind. Didn't look high enough. So I did 3,000 feet tandem. Awesome. My tandem instructor taught me how to stall and fall and how to come out of a fall. The gave me the control of the glider. I was having a ball. He said I was the most relaxed confident person he has ever taken up on their first flight. That still didn't do it for me.
Signed up to tandem jump out of a plane 2 miles up. This was going to be awesome. My sister was jumping with me. The day before the jump I fell at the hospital with a glass bottle in my hand. Almost severed my finger on my right hand requiring surgery to reattach tendons and nerves. 3 surgeries and one year later the tendons snapped so I have a rod inserted into my wrist (he worked around my tattoo) now having hand manipulations twice a week bending the rod in my finger, hand, wrist. Hurts!!!!! While we wait on the scar tissue to soften so we can thread a tendon from upper arm trough the rod and attach to the finger. Please pray that this works. I don't line the alternative.
Dr Kumar found out about my bucket List and vetoed the skydive. I already have my tickets and they are not cheap.
Didn't phase him. His concern is when the straps of the parachute hit my pacemaker at a speed of 150 mph it could rip the leads out of my heart causing immediate death. I have faith it won't. He said if I experienced syncope and my heart stopped he was concerned that after the 60 sec freefall the impact of the parachute opening might cause it not to start my heart back. I am still not worried. So No! And my husband agrees adamantly with Dr Kumar. He won't sign the release. That was my favorite thing to do next. Now what?

Other than that, my life is simple.... Book club on e a month, ladies lunch bunch once a month, and game night twice a month. Basketball and Karate with my grandson. ( and fishing )
